Another team meeting - 18th March!

So as our seventh week starts we had another meeting to evaluate our progress and assign new tasks.  Generally the progress was good but we felt that we were getting caught up on the details when we really should have been focusing on things as a whole whilst still together.  For example, although I want to improve my normals for my modulars by sculpting them I am saving that for the Easter break since improving my current asset - my fish stall, is a lot more important since it's still in its early stages.

With this in mind, we spent the day testing our buildings out in engine and figuring out what needed improving and important tweaks that wouldn't have been seen because of it.  This really cleared up a lot of issues for us and let us move forward pretty quickly since we worked out things like -

  • Ewa's bookshop door was too small.
  • George's modulars were inside out in some cases.
  • Jamie's modulars needed a bit more variation.
Alongside this we also assigned assets for the week as follows -
  • Mike - complete his factory building, make basic baskets.
  • Anna - clean up Dropbox, break up cart asset into 'broken cart', finish fish stall, make crab and lobster.
  • Ewa - pallets, hanging laundry, rotten fruit, finish fruit/veg stall.
  • Jamie - start bread stall/shopfront, boats
  • George - hanging nets, crab/lobster cages, door texture, finish flower cart.
  • Shay - work on tavern interior, finish butchers stall.
The main focus of this week for the majority of the group is to create some really polished stall assets that make up the main hotspot of the level.  By Friday we hope to put them in the level as well as any extra things we've worked on.  Mike has also been working on his factory building which will be put in on Friday as well.

Overall, things are progressing well.  Over Easter I'll be working hard and I'm sure everyone else will be too, so onwards and upwards!

- Anna
