Meeting1 11/02/2013

Today's meeting was about what it was that we wanted to achieve by the 19th of February as a group and individuals. We talked about our idea and refined what it was that the group wanted as a whole, we knew that we had a basic understanding of our idea ans what was expected from each of us (as we had established roles last week) so it made this meeting run nice a smoothly.

We came to the conclusion that for the 19th we wanted (as a group) to have the main white box of our project to be made, this is so that when we present our idea, the class can clearly see what it is that we are wanting to achieve and it will be easier for the group to collectively work from this base.
We also agreed that we wanted the design document to be finished so that when the presentation starts, we can hand out the document so that the tutors can see (in more detail) our ideas and plans for the project.
Finally we agreed that each of our team members would have certain concepts completed by the 19th ready for the presentation and ready for the team to start the real hard hitting conceptional stage of this project.

This is the list of what the team members separately wanted to concept towards by the deadline.
Jamie - Alley way concepts and boats
Michael - A birds eye view of the map as a whole
George - Grungy feels and textures, assorted assets
Shayleen - Assets and the fountain center piece
Ewa - Bits of everything, undecided
Anna - Atmosphere, colour and the harbor

So far the team have created simple concepts to better understand what it is that we want as a group, created a drop box account so we can all access each others contributions, a team blog, assigned roles for each of us to abide by, downloaded all the same software, blocked out a basic plan for the map and planned to go to London to British library.

During the London trip tomorrow we all decided and then created a list of things we will be looking for in the library archives to help back up and settle our ideas for our map.

We will be researching into:
  • Harbors
  • Stalls
  • Materials, Craft and Trade
  • Landmarks
  • Fishing Equipment
  • and Scale References

Overall as a whole the team seems happy and enthusiastic to move on and really get stuck into this project.
